Default AdSense

I hope this is right place to ask for this, but I want someone to explain to me in simple terms what the best way to use Ad sense would be. I have some ads on my sites, but alot of times they just don't match up with the key words or tags that I'm using, so I think it's a waste of time.

I had adsense on my classifieds site for less than a day. All of the ads were for other classifieds sites. It couldn't seem to pick up that mine was a site for a specific region & that I wanted various ads for that region & not other classifieds sites... I haven't had much luck w/ the keyword targeting code you add to your pages in the past, so I decided to revisit the issue later.

I have been running adsense on this site: http://preloved-motorcycles.com/

So far it seems to be related and not show other classifieds sites. At least from when I have looked. But I think it really depends on what the bot sees. If it finds a lot of text that mentions classifieds then I could see it pulling the competition.

The best way to optimize your website for adsense is using contextual tags where the hot content is.

They are

<!-- google_ad_section_start -->
Text you want to spider eg: vacation rentals in Italy
<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

<!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) -->
Text you don't want to spider. You can put in this section keywords like "classified this" and "classifieds that"
<!-- google_ad_section_end(weight=ignore) -->

After that, you need to put some text in every category, stuffed with keywords and keyphrases. Just to give some relevance to it, put the contextual tags at the start and at the end of the text.

It's a great thing, if you have adsense on single ads pages, to evidence ad text with those tags, so you can have lots of benefits from the right contextualization of the page.

You can add the url of other classifed ad websites to the Competitive Ad Filter in your Adsense setup and they won 't be displayed.

LOL, if you see adsense on the top, there are ads with "text" keyword on it
