Default Promote you classifieds sites

With the holiday season around the corner you should be promoting your classified ads websites.

With the economy the way it is consumers are going to be bargain hunting to save money.

You should be letting people know about your classifieds services and start building traffic.

What can you do to get noticed:

Start blogging
Write press releases
Leave your signature in forums
Print some fliers and post them on bulletin boards
Leave business cards all over the place

There are many ways to get your name out but what's important is start right now, today.

If any other members have any other great ideas feel free to share them with us, let's help
each other grow and prosper.

Good luck

Hi topfan,

Welcome to the Classifieds Industry forum!

Yes you are right; more and more classifieds sites are coming up each and every day which makes it tough to compete.

You may find it easier to do a local classifieds website, maybe a major city in your area or even a smaller town.

Even though it's easy to ship items across the world sometimes it's easier to sell
when the item is local and a buyer can look at it.

You may have noticed that over the past year or so local portals are popping up, these portals have local information,
news, events, classifieds etc. People are now looking for local sources for their needs so you may want to explore this direction.

I hope that helps.

That is where a good local site is better than a big national one. You CAN get to the top for your area without much effort. I'm number 2 in natural search on Google. Plus, it doesn't cost that much to get a great paid position on Google until your natural search picks up.

I've been doing that lately and they seem to be sticking around longer.

Talking FaceBook

Huge asset for advertising your site. Get fans. Pay a buck a day for some ads to be put up on Facebook to users there. Use twitterfeed at www.twitterfeed.com to send a few ads onto your FaceBook site. People will click them. GET FRIENDS. I add about 10-15 friends a day to my personal Facebook and my Findiit group facebook. It REALLY helps!

Default Twitter

I have just gotten back into the classifieds. I also have a web design site and have gotten a few jobs using Twitter and Facebook. I am in the process now of setting up some fliers to be handed out in my local area. My web design website isn't even in the search engines yet so I know it was responses from Twitter that brought me some business. I dropped out of the National stuff and now my classified site is for my local area only which will make it easier to hand out the fliers and such.

Hey Rick,

It's great to see you back in action. Really nice job on your classifieds site also.

Don't let your site be taken by those spam ads though. I get hit every day and have to delete them and block IP's.

Best

Chippie
